Background

synaptophysin (Syn), also known as the major synaptic vesicular protein p38, is a protein encoded by SYP gene in human. It interacts with the basic synaptic vesicles, but when inactivated experimentally in animals, they still express and function normally. Syn reacts with neuroendocrine cells in adrenal medulla, carotid artery, skin, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, lung, pancreas and gastrointestinal mucosa. synaptophysin (Syn) Monoclonal Antibody can recognize normal neuroendocrine cells and neuroendocrine tumors. SYN is not expressed together with other neural differential markers and can be used as a differential marker to judge tumor.
