CDK4

Background

Cyclin dependent kinase 4 (CDK4) is a member of the cyclin dependent kinase family. CDK4 gene is located on human chromosome 12q13. CDK4 is highly expressed in well differentiated liposarcoma and dedifferentiated liposarcoma, but rarely in other benign fat tumors and other sarcomas. In addition, many tumors also have elevated levels of CDK4, such as osteosarcoma, breast cancer, and colon cancer. It is often used in combination with MDM2 for the diagnosis of well-differentiated liposarcoma and dedifferentiated liposarcoma.
