Background

Cytokeratin (low molecular weight) can mark almost all non-squamous epithelium, especially all kinds of monolayer tubular epithelium.It is not expressed in squamous epithelium.CK-LMW can be used as a specific marker for non-squamous Cell Carcinoma.It is a marker for ovarian adenocarcinoma, gastrointestinal adenocarcinoma, thyroid carcinoma, and most ductal carcinoma .Especially for breast, pancreas, bile duct and salivary gland epithelial tumors, endocrine organ tumors (carcinoma and adenoma), liver cancer, endometrial cancer, kidney cancer, neuroendocrine tumors and other tumors were significantly positive markers.Bladder transitional cell carcinoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, thymoma and mesothelioma were also positive.Most squamous cell carcinomas are negative.
