Background
Zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) enhancer is a histone lysine N-methyltransferase encoded by the EZH2 gene, involved in histone methylation and ultimately in transcriptional inhibition. The mutation or overexpression of EZH2 is related to many types of cancer. Abnormally activated EZH2 inhibits the normal expression of tumor suppressor genes, and blocking EZH2 activity may slow down tumor growth. EZH2 is upregulated in many cancers, including breast cancer, prostate cancer, melanoma and bladder cancer.
