Background

Neuron nucleus (NeuN) is a kind of neuron protein, which is expressed in most post mitotic neurons of central nervous system and peripheral nervous system, but not in retinal cells, Cajal Retzius cells, Purkinje cells and sympathetic ganglion cells. NeuN plays an important role in the identification of neurons and their tumors. It is mainly used in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of glioblastoma and neurocytoma.
