Background

Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is a basic single chain peptide hormone secreted by the main cells of parathyroid gland. Its main function is to regulate the metabolism of calcium in the body, promote the increase of blood calcium level and the decrease of blood phosphorus level. At the same time, it also acts on the intestine and renal tubules to increase the absorption of calcium, thus maintaining the stability of blood calcium. It is usually used in the judging and research of parathyroid tumor.
